What to bring
- Comfortable shoes with grip
- Clothing covering shoulders and knees (for Dambulla)
- Hat, sunscreen and plenty of water
Good to know
- Sigiriya opens around 7 AM. The climb is hottest and busiest from 10 AM to 2 PM.
- Keep quiet near the upper section; wasp warnings are posted when nests are active.
- At Dambulla, shoes and hats come off and photos posing with your back to a Buddha statue aren't allowed.
- Times are a guide and may shift with traffic, weather and the group's pace.
